A convicted child molester was released from prison earlier than originally sentenced. After his release, he was arrested and accused of groping another child in downtown last month.
Prior to this arrest, he had the chance to be sent back to prison after an ankle monitor violation, but instead the state opted to simply give him a new ankle monitor.
It turned out that the “second chance” ankle monitor was an agreement between the district attorney’s office and the public defender. It clearly didn’t work.
