Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg accused former President Donald Trump of creating a “false expectation that he would be arrested” on Tuesday of this week.

In his response to a request from House GOP lawmakers for documents, D.A. Bragg accused Trump of muddying the waters.

“Your letter dated March 20, 2023 … is an unprecedented inquiry into a pending local prosecution,” Bragg’s office complained in a five-page response to Congress.

“The Letter only came after Donald Trump created a false expectation that he would be arrested the next day and his lawyers reportedly urged you to intervene,” the letter accused.

Bragg’s office also accused Congressional lawmakers of making “unconstitutional requests” into his local investigation of Trump.

Members of Manhattan grand jury failed to meet for the 3rd day in a row after a witness testified on Monday, March 20, that D.A. Bragg withheld 600 pages of “exculpatory evidence” from the grand jury.

According to FOX News’ legal expert Gregg Jarrett, former U.S. Assistant Attorney Robert Costello told the grand jury, “Wait a minute. You don’t have the hundreds of pages I handed over to Alvin Bragg over here? You only have six cherry-picked documents?”

Grand jury members were told not to come in on Tuesday, March 21, after they asked about the missing documents and a few reportedly indicated they may not return an indictment against Trump.

The 600 missing documents that were turned over to the D.A.’s office by Costello included emails and text messages that exonerate Trump. He is accused of paying stripper Stormy Daniels $130,000 as hush money in 2016.

The Manhattan grand jury will not hear testimony, deliberate or vote on the hush-money case against former President Trump on Thursday, a source confirmed to Fox News.

The grand jury does not meet on Fridays, which means an indictment will not come this week.

A source previously told DailyMail.com that Trump would be indicted on Wednesday, March 22, or Thursday, March 23.

However, D.A. Bragg’s hush money case against Trump appears to be dead in the water.
