A resolution to call for unity after the assassination attempt of the former president was struck down before it was even heard on the Metro Council floor Tuesday.
Councilwoman Ginny Welsch said former President Donald Trump asked for what happened to him with his messaging.
“It touched Mr. Trump because Mr. Trump has been calling for this and that people heeded his call,” she said.
