In the High Cost of Homelessness, Tennessee is one of only a few states in the country where it is illegal to camp on public property. The US Supreme Court heard oral arguments Monday on this very issue on behalf of a group of homeless people in Grants Pass, Oregon. At stake is whether cities have the right to clear homeless people off public spaces by ticketing or arresting them. India Pungarcher with Open Table Nashville, a local nonprofit that advocates for the homeless, joined FOX 17 News as she is in Washington, D.C. for the hearing.
