Half a year after a Belmont University student was killed by a felony offender deemed too incompetent to stand trial for a previous shooting, her legacy is bringing change.
Jillian Ludwig’s murder prompted a series of legislative bills in the months that followed, ensuring dangerous suspects aren’t released back into Tennessee without treatment and oversight. FOX 17 News has learned these changes apply to a range of suspects, from felons to those who repeatedly commit misdemeanor offenses.
Jillian Ludwig’s angelic voice now sings from heaven. Her parents, Matt and Jessica Ludwig, discovered the last song their 18-year-old daughter would write, How Long, recorded on her cell phone, months after her life was taken.
