A vote by the Tennessee Public Charter School Commission will now keep Rocketship Nashville Northeast Elementary School open.
This comes after Metro’s school board shut them down.
JC Bowman, the CEO of Professional Educators of Tennessee, says it’s been an ongoing war with MNPS and charter schools and he says in this case, the charter school has been outperforming the public schools in its area.
MNPS School Board denied Rocketship’s renewal application in November, but the charter school appealed this decision in December.
