At just 23 months old, Ariel Rose passed away at Highroad Place, a transitional housing facility.
The autopsy shows she had twelve times the lowest reported lethal dose of fentanyl in her system.
“The family is devastated, still. You don’t get over the loss of a child or grandchild. No parent or grandparent should ever have to bury a grandchild or a child,” said Gerard Stranch, the attorney for Ariel’s grandfather, Mickey Rose.
Months before she died, Ariel had been spotted at Brookmeade Park, one of the city’s largest homeless encampments at the time.
